We recently got up close and personal with Range Rover’s new Evoque Convertible, which they are advertising as ‘the world’s first premium compact convertible SUV’. With a sleek body, four-seat capacity, Z-folding roof and a touchscreen control ‘infotainment’ system, it is certainly a better suit for the contemporary city-lover than the modern World explorer.

The thing we’ve always loved about Land Rover is the fact that they have never wandered too far from their original offering from back in 1948 of a vehicle suitable for any adventure. Not sure the same can be said for the Evoque Convertible! If you like your Land Rovers topless, we’d recommend a Series 1 all day long: much less handbag, far more rucksack, and 100% classic adventure.
